Gerald's practice focuses on business transactions primarily for builders and developers of residential and commercial real estate Gerald has extensive experience structuring joint ventures and partnerships to acquire and develop real estate projects. He has many years of experience working with both private and public companies is areas relating to commercial financing, shareholder agreements, shareholder disputes, incorporation, corporate reorganizations, partnership agreements, syndicated mortgages and purchase and sale of businesses of various description and magnitudes. Gerald is also involved in the management of the firms foreclosure practice.

Helen Rees, Calgary Office
Called to the Bar as a solicitor in England in 1990, Helen moved to Alberta with her Canadian husband and joined Masuch Albert LLP in May 2004. Helen practices in the areas of property, corporate and commercial law.  Helen is experienced in real estate purchases and sales, mortgaging and refinance as well as commercial and residential leasing, corporate sales and acquisitions, Franchise sales and acquisitions, distributorship agreements, marketing agreements, supply agreements and business formations and reorganizations. Helen's current practice focuses on her 'home builder' clients' multi-family unit developments and bare land condominium developments. Helen also conducts the firm's foreclosure practice and is well equipped in identifying cost-efficient resolutions for her clients.

Lydia Lytwyn, Calgary Office
Lydia Lytwyn joined Masuch Albert LLP on January 1, 2007, and previously practiced with Gerald Masuch and Gerald Albert approximately 12 years ago. Lydia was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1986 and during her 21 years of legal experience has advised clients on a variety of business matters including purchases, sales, business combinations including partnerships. amalgamations and joint ventures, negotiation and drafting of a variety of contractual arrangements such partnerships, franchises, land leases, equipment leases, distributorship agreements, marketing agreements, supply agreements, business formation and financing, directors and officers liability, oil and gas lease negotiations, oil and gas transactions, advice on the interpretation of the CAPL operating procedure, gross royalty trusts. Additionally, Lydia has been involved in the provision of strategic business advice to certain aboriginal corporations involved in the MacKenzie Valley Pipeline.

Mathew Farrell, Calgary Office
Mathew Farrell is an associate with the Calgary office of Masuch Albert LLP. Mathew grew up in Calgary and received a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Calgary in 2003.  He then attended law school at Queen’s University in Ontario, after which he returned to Alberta for his articles of clerkship and subsequently joined the firm. He practices in the areas of real estate, corporate-commercial law and wills and estates.

Anton Q. (Tony) Suberlak, Calgary Office
A graduate from the University of Saskatchewan, Tony has been practicing law since 2000 and joined Masuch Albert LLP in September, 2008.  Tony advises individual and business clients on a variety of issues including residential and commercial real estate transactions, financing, and general corporate and business related matters.  He is often involved in the negotiation and preparation of contracts related to business set up, mergers, acquisitions or sales, financing, and leasing.  His list of clients includes developers, builders and trades as well as many other owner operated businesses.

Sherry Kooner, Edmonton Office
Sherry Kooner is an associate with the Edmonton office of Masuch Albert LLP. She came to the firm after having articled in Toronto at Parkdale Community Legal Clinic in a variety of areas of law, and her practice now focuses on real estate law.  She also works in the areas of civil litigation, and landlord tenant law.  She received a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta (B.Comm) in 2000, and a common law degree (LLB) from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2006.  She is a member of the The Law Society of Upper Canada, the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association.
